The Taycan is Porsche's first fully electric production car, and the Turbo S name is kept purely out of tradition — there is no turbocharger anywhere on it. It uses a two-speed gearbox on the rear axle, which is unusual for an electric car. It runs at 800 volts rather than the 400 most electric cars use, which is what lets it charge quickly and use thinner cables. Its headlights sit in deep recesses under the wing line, giving the front a hooded look no other Porsche has.
