After more than sixty years with the engine at the front, the C8 moved the Corvette's V8 behind the seats. That change is what gives it the short nose, the long rear deck and the two visible luggage compartments, one at each end. Its rear window is a glass hatch looking straight down onto the engine, which is unusual even among mid-engined cars. The roof panel lifts out and stores in the rear boot, so a coupé becomes an open car without any bodywork changing shape.
